HOUSTON, Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Amegy Bank President and CEO Steve Stephens was recently selected to join The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) 2015 Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is Congressionally-established and advises Ex-Im Bank on its policies and programs that encourage the Bank to provide competitive financing to support American jobs through exports.
The Ex-Im Bank recently announced that its Board of Directors appointed 17 members to Ex-Im Bank's Advisory Committee for fiscal year 2015. This year's Committee has 11 new members and six returning members. Stephens is the only member to be selected from Houston and the banking industry.
"I am honored to be selected by the Ex-Im Bank to join this outstanding group of leaders from around the country who each offer a unique perspective on Ex-Im lending," said Amegy Bank CEO Steve Stephens. "My perspective is based on working closely with the Ex-Im Bank for more than 20 years in the country's largest exporting city and state."
Amegy Bank has been a long-time lending resource of the Ex-Im Bank's Working Capital Program by promoting Ex-Im guaranteed loan facilities to qualified small businesses. In 2013, Amegy Bank received Fast Track Lender Status, which is a select distinction given to only 10 banks in the United States that have demonstrated skills in Ex-Im working capital lending. With $115 million in Ex-Im supported lines of credit, Amegy Bank is now the largest participant in the program in Texas and the sixth largest lender in the United States in terms of total authorizations. In 2014, Amegy was named Small Business Lender of the Year by the Ex-Im Bank. Added Stephens, "I am excited to build on the relationship Amegy Bank has with the Ex-Im Bank and look forward to working together with the Committee in supporting the Ex-Im Bank and U.S. job growth."
