National Bank of Arizona Names Maio Chief Executive Officer

   Founding CEO, John Gisi Will Continue to Serve as Chairman of the Board

PHOENIX, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- National Bank of Arizona Chairman John J. Gisi has announced that Keith Maio will assume the title of Chief Executive Officer for the state's fourth-largest bank, effective January 1, 2005.

Gisi, who is the founding CEO of National Bank of Arizona, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board. He has held the position of CEO since the bank's inception in 1984.

Gisi is one of the bank's organizers and is credited with much of the success and tremendous growth of National Bank. He is a member of the Executive Management Committee of the bank's parent company -- Zions Bancorporation. Gisi is a past board member of the Arizona's Children Association, the University of Arizona Foundation and the Arizona Nature Conservancy. Gisi, who is a former Flagstaff Citizen of the Year by the Arizona Daily Sun, is also a lifetime member and former president of the Tucson Conquistadores. Gisi also served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.

Maio has served as President and Chief Operating Officer for the bank since 2001. Prior to serving as President, he was Executive Vice President over the bank's statewide real estate divisions. Maio joined National Bank of Arizona in 1992. He attended the University of Arizona and received a BBA from the University of New Mexico. He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Graduate School of Banking. Maio currently serves on the boards of the Arizona Bankers Association, Pacific Coast Banking School and the Arizona MultiBank.

Located at the bank's Biltmore Corporate Center in Phoenix, Maio will begin his role as only the second CEO in National Bank of Arizona's history beginning January 1, 2005. He will also retain his previous title as President of National Bank of Arizona.
