PHOENIX; September 17, 2002National Bank of Arizona, a subsidiary of Zions Bancorporation (Nasdaq: ZION), announced today that the bank has closed on property for its new corporate headquarters in Phoenix.
“We’re thrilled about our new corporate headquarters,” said John Gisi, chairman and chief executive officer of National Bank of Arizona. “The new property will allow us to integrate several departments/offices from other locations throughout Metro Phoenix to our headquarters. The size of the facility will also allow for National Bank of Arizona’s future growth.”
Located at 6001 N. 24th Street, the 10-acre property has been the headquarters for Del Webb Corporation since 1994 (purchased in 1997). The building became available with Webb’s relocation to the Pulte Homes local headquarters in Scottsdale. The company is also in negotiations with Grubb & Ellis for local space for a National Information Services home office extension. The Pulte and Webb merger became official in July 2001.
The property includes three buildings totaling approximately 140,000 square feet. National Bank of Arizona will occupy all three buildings. One of the buildings will serve as a full-service branch. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
“A clear advantage to the property is its campus-like setting,” added Gisi. The property will allow us to offer amenities to our employees in a positive work environment.”
The bank will continue to operate a full-service branch, as well as commercial lending offices at the company’s existing corporate headquarters at 3101 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix. The Central location has served as National Bank of Arizona’s headquarters since 1992. The relocation to the new corporate headquarters is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2003.
